"Cheese"

Two weeks ago I went to Paganfest with my pals America, Irving, Kim and Britney. We're just one hilarious bunch. The picture on the bottom is so ridiculous it's funny. It's an instant moment where we all just look bent out of shape. I have to admit that I love the whole group. Smiles all around, all the time.

Getting My Blab On

It’s Sunday morning and I want to rant about something but I have no real idea what I want to do it of.  On Friday night, I was hit on my bicycle in a hit-and-run. Right now I’m at a family friend’s house with the family putting up with shitty love songs (as in they’re bad songs) by artists like Los Bukis, but I have Mercyful Fate’s “Nightmare” playing. More than anything, I think this is just going to be a big long blab of random stuff.

Mercyful Fate
Of all the their albums, I think Don’t Break the Oath is my favorite. “A Dangerous Meeting”, “Nightmare” and “Come to the Sabbath” are just amazing songs that for me, define what the Mercyful Fate sound is.

Biking With Long Hair
So last night was the Los Angeles Critical Mass and one of the newest CSUN Bicycle Collective members, Gracie, joined us for the ride. One of the highlights was a hilarious conversation between Madison, Gracie and I about how we each handle cycling with long hair.

Long Hair
I love my hair and I’ve never been afraid to admit it. It’s pretty long (but not long enough) and I a lot of times I put it in a bun or something random just for the heck of it. What’s the point of having long hair if you’re not going to have some fun with it? Let me be clear, by having fun with your hair, I mean hairstyles that do NOT include straightening and curling it. The reason I do not include those is because girls and women have a tendency to complain how damaged their hair is. Instead of enjoying your hair, you’re just whining.

Horror Movies
I love horror movies to death and I think it’s really awesome when girls like horror movies too. I’m sorry, but chick flicks are way too cliché and only serve to one demographic…girls, so that’s definitely not me. A couple months ago, Britney, America and I saw Beauty and the Briefcase and I cannot even begin to describe how awful it was. I’ll happily stick to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Saw. Eli Roth said on Twitter that “Cabin in the Woods” was a good film, so I’m going to take his word on it and see it one of these days.

The Avengers
I’m pretty fucking tired of superhero movies. I’ve seen so many over the years: Daredevil, The Hulk, X-Men (the first two and Origins), Fantastic Four, Spiderman Batman and Superman. I have lost all interest in the genre. They need to make more movies like Inception and Shutter Island. Suspense movies are great for a reason. Christopher Nolan and Ridley Scott are amazing directors.

This has satisfied my blabbering needs. Have a great day everyone.

Lady Liberty Runs Away

Hi there, today I'm posting "The American Way" Sacred Reich. This a good metal song from 1990, back when the heavy distortion still had not been embraced by everyone in the metal community. I heard this song in Encino Man a couple years. Check it out, it's catchy and have a great day.

Cutting Room Floor

I'm currently putting the final touches on my mini class documentary. I've put in double digit hours just editing this thing. For actual filming, I've probably spent a good 30 hours in total. I'm tired but it needs to be 100% ready before I go to sleep tonight.

A Veil For The Thief

Good morning everyone, today is Wednesday. Anyways, this is "Twilight Fires" by Echos of Eternity. I heard it last week on the way to Paganfest with my pals America, Irving, Britney and Kim. Really great song with a very catchy chorus. But I will say that the chorus does sound a lot like Trivium's "Like Light To Flies." Anyways, have a great day everyone and check the song out.

Meet Me In The Next Life

Hi everyone, I'm getting ready to call it a night and felt like it would be good to post a song. This is "Next Life" by In This Moment. Great band with a great front woman and a well balanced scream/sing thing going on. Check it out and have a great night.

Kittens

I want to rant but at the same time I don't. I'm frustrated. Good night.

Death Bound In Glory

Hello there internet world, well today I am posting one of Cradle of Filth's recently (well-kinda) released songs, "Thank Your Lucky Scars." I've liked Cradle of Filth's music for a while now. I posted "Better to Reign in Hell" (which is also my favorite by the band) a while back, but this song might just rank up among the best. It's a great mix of the "Cthulhu Dawn" era stuff but also the more recent "Lilith Immaculate" sound. Check it out and have a great night.

Keep This Soldier's Carcass Warm

Every since my Anthropology professor, Dr. Cohen, showed me klezmer music, I've been in love with it. This song is called "Yosl Ber" and it's a Russian-folk song performed by Daniel Kahn. Check it out, it's really up beat and lively. Have a great day everyone.

It's A Case of Do or Die

Hello there everyone, so I finally realized that I haven't posted any Judas Priest on my blog. This is Judas Priest's "You Got Another Thing Comin'." This song is a total classic so enjoy it and have a great night.

Don't You Know Who The Fuck I Am

Hello there everyone, so I'm still working on a 15 page paper I started a while ago. But the good news is that I'm almost done. Anyways, almost everyone who has heard RoadRunner United has pretty much fell in love with it. This song is called "The Enemy." If you find the vocals recognizable, it's because they're done by no other than the great Mark Hunter of Chimaira. Listen to the song and enjoy it. Good night and good luck.

The General Says We'll Win The War

Hello there everyone, today I'm posting Saxon's "Power and the Glory." This a great power metal song from the 80s and without a doubt insanely catchy. I don't remember if I first heard of it on Metal: A Headbanger's Journey or That Metal Show. But anyways, enjoy the song and have a great night.

Cloud Your Vision

I hate not being able to find the songs I want to post on youtube, makes it a bit of a hassle posting the songs I want to post. Anyways, here is Still Remain's "The Worst Is Yet To Come." Good song and very catchy, but still not the song I wanted to post. This is off of their 2005 album Of Love and Lunacy. Check it out and have a good afternoon everyone.

It Is Just Another Graveyard

I love being in Thin Lizzy moods. Their music is awesome and were rocking the distorted twin guitar sound years before anyone else. This song is called "Toughest Street in Town" and it's off one of greatest albums Black Rose. Check it out and have a great night everyone. Good night and good luck.

Scrubs

Hello there everyone, today is Metal Alliance 2012 and it's being headlined by DevilDriver. A couple of years ago, the show Scrubs featured DevilDriver in the background twice. So in the clip above, "Driving Down The Darkness" is featured. Really awesome that they got included. Enjoy and have a great day everyone.

Trouble Is On Its Way

So tomorrow the Metal Alliance 2012 tour is stopping in Los Angeles and I'm going to the show with America, Gio and Irving. The headline act is DevilDriver and this will make it the 4th time I've seen them in four years. So this song is "Teach Me To Whisper." This song is straight to the point, loud and in your face. This is exactly what I love about DevilDriver. Check it out, good night and good luck. I will post another DevilDriver song or a Wretched song before I leave tomorrow.

The Beat Don't Stop Until The Break Of Dawn

Alright I have to save the best for last. This is the awesome classic "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugarhill Gang. The song was released in 1979 and still holds up. This one of those songs that I believe that everyone should listen to before they die. Enjoy your night everyone.

You Can't Stop A Train

Unless you've lived under a rock, Outkast is a classic. "B.O.B." is easily one of their greatest songs and one of my favorites by the group. It's fast, catchy and has an electric guitar soloing in the back of most of the song. Check it out if you want to.

I'm Just Here To Hold Your Hand When You Die

Here is another non-metal song I like, this is "Imaginary Places" by Bus Driver. The whole 'singing along to the speed of the flute' is really not found in your average hip-hop song and makes this one a bit unique. Check it out if you want to. Have a great day.

Roaches On The Floor

I do enjoy other artists that are not metal and one of them is Cannibal Ox. They're a sick hip-hop duo with some really good songs and this one is my personal favorite by them. It's called "Iron Galaxy." I already passed my heavy metal purist phase a while ago, so it's these non-metal songs that keep me sane. Check it out if you want to, I'm going to post several more hip-hop songs I like after this.

Bring Back the DK Crew

It's been thirteen years since Nintendo and Rare released Donkey Kong 64 on the Nintendo 64. For me it is arguably one of the best games (because Rare pretty much did everything right) to have been released on the console and it would be awesome to see the whole DK Crew making a comback (don't worry K. Rool I miss you too, plus I already talked about how awesome it would be to do a Nintendo HD remake of the first one here). This is one of those games that would best fit the Wii U, both graphics wise and game play wise. The motion controls in the Wii U controller would allow the developers to some impressive stuff like turning the controller to evade attacks and play notes on the touch screen to use each Kong's instrument. Gyroscope for aiming but also for possible use with characters in certain situations like Lanky's boss battle in the water or with Enguarde the Swordfish. The full use of wii-motes would allow the multiplayer to be top notch with accurate aiming. If this banana were to mature one day, watch out for my pineapple canon.

For the actual game itself though, I would like the rebirth to both stay true to the original for character usability, so only still be able to use DK, Diddy, Lanky, Tiny and Chunky. But on the other hand, add more sidequests and other Kongs to interact with. Cranky, Candy, Funky and Snide were perfect catalysts for continuing collecting as many bananas, coins and blueprints as you would, so why not bump up the list to include more interactive players. Also, bring back Troff and Scoff. I don't know how many times I've been frustrated by being one banana short of opening the door to a boss battle, but the game would have been the same without them (like Navi in Ocarina of Time).

When it comes to location, I would 100% want for all the original levels to be included, or more simply put, I would like the whole DK Isles to be in the game but also add a completely new island to explore too. There are many ways this can be produced through the story line. King K. Rool is back to conquer the DK Isles with a new ship or Cranky Kong has accidentally develop a portal that leads to somewhere unknown (cliche but it always works) or even someone new has kidnapped the Kongs and you must team up with K. Rool to save them.

Time to start crossing my fingers this gets made. Nintendo, you know you want to do a sequel.
Good morning. My buddy Dennis took this awesome picture of my bicycle and I on Friday. My trademark headbands are on my other hand. This is really a great picture.

Set Up The Lights

It really annoys me when I'm not really sure what songs to post up on my blog. Right now I'm feeling a bit Southern Rock-ish so this is Maylene and the Songs of Disaster's "Tough as John Jacobs." From the very first riff, you can feel the Southern sound running through your body. Check it out and enjoy your night everyone. Good night and good luck.

Our Conscience In The Gutter

Hello there, I enjoy The Living End. Really cool punk (kinda) band. I discovered them about a good 12-13 years ago on a Mountain Dew cd I got from buying a Mountain Dew shirt. Anyways, the song is very catchy so check it out and have a great day.
