Soccer
I'm just straight out mad right now. It has become incredibly painful to watch Chivas games this season. They've been pathetic, disappointing and just fucking embarrassing. Here I am, every weekend, sitting with my jersey and watching their games religiously. I glue myself to the tv for two hours every weekend since July to catch their games. When they win, it's exciting and exhilarating. When they lose, it's frustrating. But today was a bit different. Things could go into 3 different directions: they could win and play well, lose and play well or lose and play horribly. Without much surprise, choice three took its fate. The reason why this outcome particularly annoys me is that today they qualified for "Liguilla" (aka playoffs) and while usually that makes me happy, because then there exists the aspiration for winning a league title, this time it just means I have to watch at least two more games that are the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. Hopefully this feeling just goes away in another hour or two until Thursday comes and once again I find myself watching yet another one of their games.

Folklore
I've come to the conclusion that story-telling is a big part of who I am. I think I'm a decent story-teller but I'd love to learn how people so many hundreds of years ago told their stories and passed them on through oral tradition. Maybe I'll make that a life goal next to graduate from college. Then I'll have two on the list. Sounds like a plan.
Dav-eeeeed
It's crazy to think that David and I have been friends for almost two years now. It all started when David met Gio in line for some random CSUN event. It then turned out he was really good friends with Gio's cousin Julio and convinced Gio to buy a bike (which Gio then convinced me to do). What's really funny is that David's hair is longer than mine so there was a point in time in which Gio's roommate for the past three years, Bob, thought he was me. It wasn't until the beginning of my first spring semester when I really got to know David and become good friends with him. He introduced me to the Bike Collective, which was still only a few months old and really got me into cycling. Being part of the collective has just been awesome from the beginning. I've learned a lot but there is still so much more to learn. It doesn't help that guy is pretty funny too that we get along pretty well. Just the random improvisations we do together will crack me up for a long time. One of my favorites is one that we pulled off on Wednesday night. So David and I run into his friend Marko, and we start having this random conversation that goes all over the place: Club Atlas, Taylor Swift, iPods. But we start talking about country music and square dancing and then David and I just started dancing in place looking like total idiots. One of the coolest things about David hands down is him being able to play the trumpet and being part of a ska band, Fuerza Brutal. He's good and so is the band. Something always comes up everytime they have a show, so hopefully I'll finally be able to see them soon.

Let Us Slay!
On Sunday I went to go see DevilDriver and Gwar with America. The show people at the show were kinda weird. Legacy of Disorder played first and there was no pit (but they were meh so it was understandable). Then Cancer Bats played and I've seen them before when they opened for Cannibal Corpse at the metalfest back in 2009. Let me tell you something about them, they weren't that good back then and still aren't now. What was funny was that no one was really moshing, I mean a few were, but their music isn't really that fast or anything really worth moshing in the first place and the singer was like "Man, I thought for a second there we weren't at a metal show," and the first thing that popped into my head was "Man, I almost thought you were a metal band for a moment there." They ended with their cover of "Sabotage," just like they did 3 years ago and it's still sadly their best song because it just doesn't sound as bad as the rest. DevilDriver came on stage and opened with "End of the Line" like always. It was my fifth time seeing them live and it's just as magical every time. The extra energy that Dez puts into the songs makes them just as awesome live as when you put one of their cds in and rock out. It still makes me sad that they no longer play "Grinfucked" and "Just Run" live, but they played them both plus "These Fighting Words" the first time I saw them live, so I'm never complaining. The pit was fucking brutal. BRUTAL!!! People were walking out with blood all over their faces. I got thrown in there and took a ridiculous shot to the ribs that suffocated me for a second and then I couldn't even get out of the pit hahaha. Gwar came out and they were just awesome. Lots of fake blood everywhere, entertaining show with lots of head chopping and hilarious dialog. Even Super Cyborg Jesus made an appearance and we got to see his head and arms get ripped off. Woo. They might be as heavy as most metal bands, but their live show is just spectacular. That is real entertainment right there.
I also bought a DevilDriver sweater. :D can't wait to start wearing it...next year when it decides to get cold haha.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Going Back To The Roots
I haven't really dedicated a post music in a while, which was one of the primary reasons why I made this blog. Satan and metal go hand in hand, so I'm going to post my favorite five songs that mention the devil. I have to admit too, these are pretty damn catchy.
Annihilation By The Hands of God- RoadRunner United
Angel of Light- Mercyful Fate
Victimized- King Diamond
Inno A Satana- Emperor
In League With Satan- Venom
I Can't Think Of Anything To Put Here
I haven't updated my blog in a while (something like a little over a week) due to lack of free time, which sucks. Life has been bland with injections of happiness. Too much studying and reading for school. I have to admit, the concepts I'm learning of in Urban Studies and Anthropology are stressing me out. I'm reading a little over 60 pages per class per week.
Halloween was pretty great. Went to go see Sylosis, In Flames and Lamb of God with Gio, America, Johnathan, Clara and Gaby. The pit was amazingly brutal and kicked my ass for certain moments. Besides getting elbowed in the mouth, I held myself pretty damn well in there.
I visited my dad yesterday and it started off well, but ended in the not the greatest of fashions. He hasn't changed much at all in the past year. I don't think we'll ever get along like we used to. I guess I'll always have that resentment in me that he only married my mom and had me to hide from the world his homosexuality. I find it ridiculous how my dad boasts around, taking credit of having a son in college when he used to think I wasn't even going to graduate high school.
