Girl's Not Grey

I like A.F.I. and mostly have a thing for their older material because it is fast and punky. Don't even ask me what the hell happened with "Miss Murder." Anyways, this song is called, "Girl's Not Grey" and it is eight years old. The video is pretty weird but I still like it. Check it out.

Amoeba!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone. Today appears to be a great day on the horizon. This song is called "Amoeba" and it's by the Adolescents. I first heard it on the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (which they're remaking by the way). It's catchy, punk and really good. Check it out and have a great day everyone.

I Don't Want To Have To Kill You

If you don't know who Dethklok is, they're a heavy metal band from Adult Swim's Metalocalypse. This song is called "Kill You" and it's off The Dethalbum. It's a good laugh. Check it out.

Oh Albi

I love Flight of the Conchords and this is one of their best songs. It's called "Abli the Racist Dragon." Check it out and have a good laugh.

The Meet Up

Last night one of my best friends, John, had a semi-large (group of 15) dinner/get-together that involved all his closest friends to celebrate his graduation from Cal State Long Beach. It was easily one of the funniest and greatest get-togethers I've ever been to. We all talked about pretty much everything: school, movies, tv shows, video games, and about how much parking sucks. Pictured above is us playing Spoons (from left to right: Daniel, Stephanie, Kim and Ariel. Not pictured, 5 other people).

Dragon Ball Z Abriged

Good morning everyone, so today I thought I would not post music but post Team Four Star's hilarious movie, Dragon Ball Z Abridged: Lord Slug. Team Four Star is hilarious and I feel just by saying anything about the movie that I'm releasing spoilers. The movie is 20 minutes long. Enjoy it and have a good laugh.

"The Last of Us" Trailer

Here it is, like I said, the trailer for "The Last of Us." I'm so excited.

Carved into Flesh

Hey everyone, today I have some music that's both the same but different. This is Chthonic, a metal band from Taiwan and this is their song, "Takao," and I must say that it does rock hard. This was one of several bands that opened for Arch Enemy back in September. Check it out.

Saturday, December 10, 2011

Shed The Skin

I was still in Elementary School when I heard this song and fell in love with it. It's not too heavy but it isn't too soft either. The song is "Shed the Skin" by Onesidezero. Check it out. Good night and good luck.

The Last of Us

So one of the games premiered today at the Spike Video Game Awards was "The Last of Us" by Naughty Dog (Jak and Daxter, Uncharted). The trailer looks amazing and so does the game. I can't wait for it to come out. I'll post up the trailer as soon as it appears somewhere on YouTube.

Snowboarding...in San Francisco

My Blog

I've been doing a really bad job recently with updating my blog. Sorry everyone but finals are coming up and stuff so I'm doing the best that I can. Ok that aside, this is some Spanish heavy metal. The song is "Bailando Con El Diablo" (dancing with the devil) by Saratoga. The song is fast paced, double pedaled, and rocks hard. Check it out. Good night and good luck.

Collision

This is my favorite As I Lay Dying song. It is "Collision" off of their first album, Frail Worlds Collapse. I heard this song and fell in love with it. Awesome guitars, awesome lyrics and great headbanging parts. Good night and good luck.

Power and the Glory

This is Saxon's "Power and the Glory." Great song. Check it out.

The Voice of December Losing Its Breath

December looms so I thought I'd put up "December Flower" by In Flames. This is my personal favorite song by In Flames and I even have the shirt of this album cover. This is when In Flames was still a melodic death metal band. For me, this song features the greatest solo ever recorded while also containing some of the greatest riffs to have been ever used. Check it out.

Will Someone Please Shoot That Fucking Snake

Good morning everyone, I'm spicing up the blog with some Gallows. This song is called "Will Someone Shoot That Fucking Snake." Check it out and have a great day everyone.

What I'm Grateful For

-Every dog I've ever owned
-My sister
-My parents for providing a roof over my head
-The invention of heavy metal
-My family in Mexico (which I miss dearly)
That is all. Nothing more and nothing less. This is truly a good night.

The Boy Who Destroyed the World

When I think of A.F.I., this is exactly what comes to mind (Not that "Miss Murder" crap). This song is called "The Boy Who Destroyed the World." Check it out. Good night and good luck.

My Thanksgiving Weekend

So I spent my Thanksgiving this year with a group of people I've never before in my life and will never see again. We all spent more than 12 hours in the cold talking about the most random things nonchalantly as if we all he previously known each other. Everyone talked about where they were from, their occupation and why they were at Best Buy. But if there is something I have to admit, it is that I'm glad I didn't spend Thanksgiving with family or a significant other or anyone I really knew (besides Luis). I didn't even really spend anytime with my family the whole weekend. It felt good to be away from everyone I knew, my problems and my electronics. It was like one of those "imagine you stranded on an island with a group of people you didn't know" kind of things because if you really think about it, no one is going to be there for you at all. It's like when you attend a concert, for however many hours you are there, the outside world doesn't exist.

BloodDrunk

What's up everyone, I know I've been gone for a couple days. Thursday I was in line all day at Best Buy and didn't get back home with my friend Luis until 4 am but didn't even go to sleep until 8 am and then left for work at 10. Got home Friday night at midnight so yeah hahaha. Yesterday I spent most of the day moving furniture and going to pick up a stove and then Between the Buried and Me in the night with the tickets I won off the radio. One of the opening bands, Animals as Leaders, was great. But anyways, this is Children of Bodom's "BloodDrunk." Sounds like everyother Children of Bodom song, great riffs, great vocals and catchy. Check it out.

My Fears Have Become Phobias

Good morning. This is As Blood Runs Black's "My Fears Have Become Phobias." Really good song of of Allegiance that contains both solos and breakdowns. Check it out.

I accidentally ran into Figure Four's "Suffocation" a couple years ago when looking up songs by the metal band Suffocation. Great song, check it out.

Good Fucking Morning

Good morning everyone. Let's talk about great music right now. This is DevilDriver's "Not All Who Wander Are Lost." One of their best songs off of The Last Kind Words. Check it out plus it has the best lyrics: "all of your hopes and dreams, never meant shit."

Monday, November 21, 2011

God Hates Us All!!!!

Slayer's "Disciple." Nothing more to say. Metal at its best. Check it out. Good night and good luck.

By The Way

Well it's always good to slow down the pace every here and there and play some non-metal songs. This is "By The Way" by Red Hot Chili Peppers. They had a heavy impact on me during the turn of the century. Check it out because it's a great song.

Jotun

This is "Jotun" by In Flames. Check it out, it's a really cool song.

The Begining of It All

I was around 5 years old when I first play the original Legend of Zelda (pictured above) and from the beginning just fell in love with the game. There are so many great things that stand out about the game like the fact that you could throw your sword if you have full hearts, the bow and arrow and what the series is famous for, dungeons. This game was my start with video games and the introduction of my favorite video game character of all time, Link.

Coerced Coexistance

Let's get some metal going. This song is called "Coerced Coexistance" by In Flames. Superb song from their early albums (their sound has really changed in recent years). Check it out because the song is amazing.

Gerudo Valley

Good morning, this song is called "Gerudu Valley" and it's from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Great song from a great game and it has a Spanishy sound to it. Have a great day.

Sunday, November 20, 2011

The Great Sea

Before going to bed, I want to post this song because to me it stands out within the Legend of Zelda series. This song is off of the Gambecube's Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, every time I hear this song it gives me strength to never look down and keep fighting and keep trying hard in school, work, life (because as some of you may know by my twitter profile, "all of your hopes and dreams never meant shit"). Link never gives up trying to save his princess (obviously the awesome Princess Zelda). It is Legend of Zelda's 25th Anniversary, so this song is dedicated to you Nintendo. Keep changing video games for the better. Good night and good luck.

The Lost Woods

Well Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword came out today and in its honor, I'm putting "The Lost Woods" up on my blog today. This is one of the catchiest songs in the whole Legend of Zelda series. Check it out.

Saturday, November 19, 2011

Everything You Know Is False...

LEGEND OF ZELDA!!!!!

So a couple of weeks ago, Nintendo had a symphony perform Legend of Zelda songs at The Pantages theater in Hollywood. This is video of when they recorded the main title song for the 25th Anniversary cd. Mind blowing.

Interpretation

I hate this book. It's a pain in the ass. That is all. Thank you.

NO! I DON'T THINK SO!

Good morning (even though I've been up for almost 6 hours). This song is "Liarsenic: Creating a Universe of Discourse" by Norma Jean. By no surprise, this song is off of O' God, The Aftermath. The lyrics and the way they are sung sound amazing with the song. Check it out.

Monday, November 14, 2011

Pleasure in Pain

This is a great song off of Chimaira's Resurrection and it's called "Pleasure in Pain." Check it out. Good night and good luck. I have to wake up super duper early tomorrow to finish my essay.

Bow Chika Bow Woah

Classic episode of Red vs Blue

Dead Man Walking

I love The Confession and this is one of their great songs off of Requiem. It's called "Dead Man Walking." I'm going to posting up quite a few of their songs. Check it out.

Dude Leave My Stuff Alone

Good morning. So my song today is Horse the Band's "Bunnies." I love the song because it's hilarious and just a rant against bunnies. (Yay) But the reason I chose this song for this post is because right now my mom's friend's son is bugging the shit out of me. Let's start from the beginning: last weekend, my mom being a good friend, let her friend and her son move in with us. (They pay rent and stuff so it's not like they're living here for free.) Now, I've had my Playstation 3 in the living room since before they moved in but the kid keeps playing my PS3 without my permission and especially when I'm not home. The other day I came home and he played Uncharted 3 for 4 hours straight from when I got home, but I have no idea how long he had been playing before that. He also starts going through all my games, both the physical copies and my digital games. Last night I was looking for Lego Pirates of the Caribbean and he just grabbed my controller and said, "let's see what other games you have on here." Seriously man, what the fuck. But this isn't even what really annoys me, it's that his mom doesn't let him play video games because of bad grades, (ok, makes sense) so he plays my PS3 every minute his mother isn't home. I'm pretty sure he's really close to finishing Uncharted 3 already and he's only lived here a week. I don't think I've even played the game for over an hour. Well funny story, so he constantly plays FIFA 11 against my step dad and always wins. (My step dad is barely figuring out how to play the Playstation 3. He hasn't played video games since FIFA World Cup 98 on the nintendo 64. So it's almost impossible to lose.) But every time I get home, he always brags about it, "oh today I beat Naim twice." I played against him and destroyed his whole team and won 6-0 (with 25 shots and 17 were blocked by the goalie) and then he's like "oh I suck at FIFA, let's play something else" Yeah that's what I thought. Back to the rant: what annoys me the most out of all of this is that the kid doesn't even know ME. I've met him twice in my life prior to him moving. The day after he moved he made a profile on my PS3. Dude just ask for mother fucking permission. I don't care that you do have a profile, but it bugs the shit out of me that you don't ask first. Anyways, how about that Paquio and Marquez fight last night. One of the best boxing matches I've seen and believe it should've been a draw. Both boxers were great and had great moments of dominance. But oh well. Enjoy your day.

Kill the King

So today I'm going a bit old school. This is Rainbow's "Kill the King" and it's from 1978. The song is fast paced plus sung by Dio, so you can't go wrong. Check it out.

Thursday, November 10, 2011

I Wish That I Was Still There

Good morning, how about some Mastodon today. This song is called "Dry Bone Valley" and it is off The Hunter. This song sounds like it came off Crack the Skye and I like it. Check it out and have a great day.

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Dysphoria

Good night everyone but before you want to call it a night, check out CloudKicker's "Dysphoria." It's a great instrumental metal song. Good night and good luck everyone.

I Killed The Prom Queen

Good morning. Let's get some music back on here. So this is the video for I Killed the Prom Queen's "Say Goodbye." My favorite aspect about the video is the singer's impatience and constant running around during the video. Check it out.

Inhalent Abuse Is Illegal And Can Be Fatal

I don't believe I've posted any in-your-face heavy music in a couple of days. This is my redemption song hahaha. Check it out, it's "Inhalant Abuse Is Illegal and Can Be Fatal" by Heavy Heavy Low Low.

Ink

Here is another song that I enjoyed off a Burnout Game. This song is called "Ink" by Finch. I saw them live once and they're pretty decent. Check it out, it's a good song with some good tempo changes.

Blood

So this song is on the barely opera metal scale. It's "Blood" by To-Mera. I like it and think the random pauses are pretty cool. Check it out.

Happy Halloween

Good morning. It's that time of year again when I listen to "Halloween" by King Diamond. Check it out because it's a classic. Please remember to stay safe today.

Are You Metal?

This is exactly what I always ask myself everyday. Check this song out, it's "Are You Metal?" by Helloween. Good night and good luck.

Red Flag

"Red Flag" by Billy Talent. I heard this song on a Burnout game (I don't remember which one) and loved the punk sound to it. Check it out.

The Family Ghost

The King. No other than King Diamond. Check it out "The Family Ghost." Sick song with a sick solo and sick drums. Sure, it doesn't compare to "A Mansion in Darkness" but still. Halloween is tomorrow so why not some King Diamond today?

Lo Mejor Del Mundo

"Lo Mejor Del Mundo" by Senor Flavio. The song is off FIFA 09 and has become a personal favorite of mine. I even put it on my own playlist in FIFA 11. Some nice ska to get your day going.

Cuando Salga El Sol

So after posting Flashbacks, I thought maybe sharing all my favorite FIFA songs over a couple weeks. But before that, there is this song, "Cuando Salga El Sol" by Northwind. This is some metal imported all the way from Spain. I think this the very first song I heard by them (if it wasn't, then it was probably "El Oraculo"). I believe you should check it out and remember to feed my fish. Enjoy.

My Dream For One Day

Well one of my dreams is to play a concert but I want to have as much as these guys on stage. Playing music live is all about having fun and these guys really know how to show it. The song is "Force Your Way" by The Black Mages

Flashbacks

"Flashbacks" by Ram Di Dam. Cool song plus it's off the FIFA 11 soundtrack. Good night and good luck.

I Thought I'd Never See This Day

This is one of those songs that I listen to when I need extra motivation. This is "The Fear In Your Eyes" by Gwen Stacy. The song sounds really cool and has an awesome chorus: "I may not make it back, but I'll make my stand."

Gor Gor

This was the very first song I had ever heard by Gwar and I have to admit that it is catchy and still find it catchy to this day. Not as catchy as "Eighth Lock," but still. I believe you should still check it out, if not give "Eighth Lock" a listen.

Planet Hell

Buenos dias. Here is another opera metal song and is my personal favorite. Check it out, it's "Planet Hell" by Nightwish.

Friday, October 28, 2011

Hanuman

Rodrigo y Gabriela are two insanely talented guitarists. Check out "Hanuman" by the duo.

Jury Duty

So today I had to go to jury duty and this ran through my head all day. Watch it, it's hilarious. Good night.

Emphasis

So this song is called "Emphasis" by After Forever. I would like to categorize it as opera metal but whatever. The cool thing about this band/genre is that it's metal with opera vocals over it and it sounds amazing. Everyday for the next couple days I'm going to be posting these kinds of songs because I believe they really stand out. Enjoy.

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Rain Maker

It's raining so this song seems appropriate. "Rainmaker" by Iron Maiden.

Hypercube

Yesterday I was writing an essay for my math class and I talked about the fourth dimension. No I don't want to get into specifics but that shit is crazy. There is a four-dimensional object that exists which the hypercube. Mind blowing stuff.

And It's Time For You And I To Die, This City's Eating Us Alive

I'm not afraid to admit that I discovered The Confession on Myspace a couple of years ago. This was the very first song I heard it stuck to me. It's metal with clean vocals and I like it. This is "Burn the Virgin" by The Confession

I Want Some

CHEESECAKE!!!!!

By Request. Less Than Jake.

I heard this song on the Digimon: The Movie soundtrack and fell in love with it. Catchy ska music. "All My Best Friends are Metalheads" by Less Than Jake.

Battle Metal

The song title itself is pretty self explanatory to the song on what it sounds like. Every time I hear the song I feel like I've unlocked new energy. Good morning, here is your inspiration for the day.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

So the newest Kingdom Hearts game, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, is going to be released on the 3DS, but that isn't necessarily what excites me. It appears that Square Enix is going to continue expanding the list of Disney characters and worlds featured in the Kingdom Hearts series. The newest addition released so far, Notre Dame. From there, who knows who could make an appearance. Plus Neku from The World Ends With You is crossing over. I'll probably buy a 3DS around the time of the release of this game just to play it (and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D). Hopefully Nintendo releases a special edition version like Sony did with the PSP and Birth by Sleep. Sadly, there is no North American release day yet.

Kingdom Hearts

I have to admit that I am a pretty huge fan of Kingdom Hearts. If there is something awesome about Kingdom Hearts is the main character, Sora. (pictured above) The only point I'm trying to get to here is that the voice of Sora is the kid from the Sixth Sense.

Friday, October 21, 2011

King of Thieves

I really like As Blood Runs Black. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe because they know how to combine solos and breakdowns really well. Anyways, this song "King of Thieves" is my personal favorite off their latest album (which came out in March). Check it because it sounds great.

Weekly Agenda

Yesterday, David, Bob, Lawerance and I decided to mess with Gio's agenda. This was our result

Death Has No Companion

Thin Lizzy are awesome and easily one of the largest influences on heavy metal. Double guitar sound in the 70s. This a live performance of one of my favorite Thin Lizzy songs, "Massacre." Good morning and enjoy it.

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Peaches

This is exactly what every music video should be like. Companies need to let artists have fun. "Peaches" by Presidents of the United States. Good morning.

We Lose Control

I enjoy After the Burial, especially after hearing "Drifts." This song is catchy, catchy and more catchy. It's "Pendulum" by After the Burial

Today was Excellent

Man what a day. Today was very productive. Pretty much spent the whole day with CSUN Bike Coop members Dennis, Hakeem and Gio. I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with those guys. Hahaha We worked the whole time on revising our Constitution, programs and budget. The first time we submitted out paperwork in April, we had our budget denied. So now were are trying to find out why it was denied and pushing for a second submission and I do believe very much that the second time is going to be the charm. We're planning some great things for the future. After that, just went to Amoeba Records with Dennis and I sold a handful of Britney Spears cds that I had bought over the past couple months because I was planning to get my ex-girlfriend all of the Britney Spears cds for Christmas. I did walk out of there with Norma Jean's O' God, The Aftermath special edition for 4 bucks so I finally own that cd. Calling it a night. Enjoy.

God Grant Me Vengeance

I discovered this band by accident. The vocals and riffs stuck in my head and plus since it's a metal song, it has some pretty sick lyrics. My favorite "I sharpen this blade, just for you." I really recommend checking it out. "God Grant Me Vengeance" by Hell Within

Unleash My Wrath!!!

[insert hedbang] This band is pretty much post-Sepultura Max Cavalera. The song is really cool and for some strange reason I like the random slow part in the middle. Maybe it's because it reminds me of Between the Buried and Me. Check it out. It's "Unleashed" by Soulfly

Creating A Universe Of Discourse

Early Norma Jean. OMG do I love their sound. Such a big influence to me in middle school. The song is "Liarsenic: Creating A Universe of Discourse" off of O God, The Aftermath. I have this album on vinyl and man does it sound amazing. Anyways, enjoy the song because it's the shit.

Your Greatness Will Silence Them All

This song is sooooo good and reminds me of early Norma Jean. The song is "Unbreakable" by Veil of Maya. The whole album is great and would recommend everyone to check it out

My Phone

I currently hate it. I don't receive calls and text messages when I'm suppose to. It crashes all the time and is constantly auto running programs. It even crashes while restarting. I'm ready to just throw it on the freeway and watch it get crushed into thousands of pieces.

Welcome Back to Hell!

I like this song and have since it came out a couple years ago on Victory Records. The name of the band is Arise and Ruin. The song has a lot of epic sounding parts and maybe that's why I like it.

Done

Done with my essay and feeling god damn good today. Forced myself to listen to DevilDriver and only positive things came out. Two 3 page essays in under a week. School doesn't have shit on me.

Finishing my Essay

I'm so close to finishing, but the what has happened is that I hit writer's block at the conclusion.

Rusted Roots

Matilda is one of my favorite childhood movies and if there is one thing I remember from that movie, it's this song.

I feel really out of it today. Since I woke up this morning, I've just felt like crap and tired. I don't know what's up with me. I just don't feel like doing anything in general.  =[

The Damned Things

The Damned Things are a pretty cool band. They're catchy and I like 'em. Anyways here is the video to their song "We've Got A Situation Here" and it is just hilarious from the beginning.

Today is a Rainy Day

It is raining today in Los Angeles. Still have several things to look forward to today even though the bike clinic was cancelled. Oh well.

Between the Buried and Me

Between the Buried and Me was a band I knew nothing about until about 5 years ago. I heard the song "Ants of the Sky" and instantly fell in love with the band. Above is the band perform the 13 minute long song live (I've gotten to hear it for myself live). The song has great tempo changes and just sounds amazing overall.

Ed Gein

This is one of those random bands I discovered while watching music videos On Demand from like 7 years ago. I heard it once and just thought it sounded awesome. I would have posted their song "You Suck At Life... And I'm Not Talking About The Board Game" but they didn't have it on youtube. Enjoy the video, I think it's one of the best out there, plus it's only 2 and a half minutes long.

Crash Turned 15

So today is Crash Bandicoot's 15th birthday. If you don't know who he is then you must have lived in a hole during the 90s. He was Sony's Playstation mascot during the years of the PS1. Happy Birthday Buddy.

New Mastodon Song

YAY Mastodon have released a new song. (Well they did yesterday and somehow I didn't hear anything about it). I like the song. Reminds me of early Mastodon (like "Deathbound"). Enjoy it.

Caboose

Red vs Blue is pretty much the greatest internet show. The best character? Caboose. Why? Because he always manages to do stuff like this. Enjoy.

School

Is pretty damn awesome so far. Sure it has its boring moments but for the most part I'm enjoying it.

Ridiculous

That is exactly what Indian actor Rajini is. He is famous throughout India and the South Pacific as their version of James Bond meets Stallone. Watch this scene from one of his movies. Judge for yourself

Blabber

This song is pure jibberish. It was made by an Italian singer by the name of Adriano Celentano and it was an interpretation of what he thought he heard in American music. I like it plus insanely catchy.

Brink!

I grew up on this movie. It is Brink! from Disney Channel. To this day, I still think it is entertaining and makes inline skating look really cool.
